Valley Harvest Food Hub

Industry: Nonprofit/Community Services

Deliverables: Brand Identity & Guidelines

"A welcoming and community-focused visual identity system designed to connect communities with accessible local food resources in the Ottawa Valley Region."

Valley Harvest Food Hub is a community-driven organization addressing food insecurity and supporting local agriculture across Ontario's Ottawa Valley region. Developed as part of RGD's Project Mentorship Program, I served as Design Manager leading the creation of comprehensive brand guidelines that reflect the food hub's mission to make fresh, local food accessible to all while celebrating the region's strong connection to its landscape and outdoor-oriented culture.

Brand Usage Examples

Working under the mentorship of Wade Thompson, RGD and collaborating closely with graphic designer Martina Revalde, I shaped a cohesive visual and verbal identity rooted
in the Valley's heritage, balancing friendly approachability with innovative thinking.
From logo systems and iconography to tone of voice and photography standards, the brand positions Valley Harvest as both a practical solution to rural food access challenges and a catalyst for community connection. The final guidelines resonate with farmers, volunteers, small businesses, and low-income individuals alike, ensuring the food hub's identity reflects the resilience and collaboration at the heart of the Ottawa Valley.
